I'm over a week late with this post, but better late than never, right?!
Yup, our little Hudson hit the 10 month mark last week. Time is going by so fast and he is changing way too quick. But it's been so fun. It's hard for me to grasp that he is coming out of the baby age and quickly approaching being a toddler. That's when I get a little sad and emotional.
He's crawling everywhere! The day he started crawling (about a week after he turned 9 months) he started pulling himself up to stand. I guess he just can't just learn on new thing at a time! Now he is cruising all over the place holding onto furniture or whatever else he can find. I bet he'll be walking within a month.
He's become a little troublemaker. He likes to get into anything he can find, including pulling the books of the bookshelf and playing in dog water. He's been keeping me on my toes! The nice thing about him being more mobile is the interaction between him and Hunter. They play almost all day long. Hudson follows Hunter everywhere he goes, crawls on him, takes whatever he is playing with out of his hands, etc. Hunter is usually pretty good about it and whines whenever I put Hudson down for a nap "But I still want to play with baby Hudson!!" It's pretty sweet how much they love each other already.
Hudson has 7 teeth still and boy does he like to use them! He is an eating machine. I have yet to see anything that he doesn't like. He shoves any and everything into his mouth as fast as possible. He eats pretty much whatever we eat. The only things I'm keeping him away from until he's one are honey, peanut butter, and seafood.
He's changed his sleeping habits a bit in the last month. He's not napping nearly as long, which is fine by me, because it was a little hard to leave the house when he was sleeping about six hours between two naps each day. Now he sleeps from about 7pm-7am at night and then takes two 1.5-2 hour naps during the day. No complaints in the sleep department. He goes down wide awake and rarely fusses when we put him in his crib.
He just had his 9 month well child check (a week before turning 10 months, whoops!). He was 18.5lbs (17th%) and 30 inches(87th%). The doctor showed a little concern with his weight. He's always been between the 25-35%, so he's falling down on the curve a bit. But she said there's not much we should do about it at this point. I think that's just how the little guy is built. He's still in 6-12 month clothes and size 3 diapers.
He's still not making any "ma-ma""da-da" type noises. I guess that can be expected with his hearing loss. I'm sure it'll just make it all that much sweeter when he does. He is pretty vocal though. He squeals, grunts, giggles, etc all day long.
He had tubes put in his ears on July 5th because he has had fluid in his ears for the last few months that just didn't want to drain. While he was sedated, an audiologist did another hearing test on him. This time she said his hearing loss was moderate. We are just so confused right now. He was diagnosed with a mild-moderate loss when he was 6 weeks old, then at 6 months his behavioral test showed he was hearing better than that, and now a moderate loss. Ugh. All have been done by different audiologists and everyone has different opinions. We go back next Tuesday for new ear molds, a behavioral test, and to have his hearing aids set to the most recent test results. I just want to make sure his aids are set right.
He's not wearing his hearing aids very much in the last couple weeks because when I put them in, he immediately yanks them out. It's so frustrating that he won't just leave them in because he really does need to be wearing them. There is just no way to keep him from pulling them out. I'm really hoping that the new molds are more comfortable for him and that he doesn't notice them as much.
Hudson is just such a sweet boy. He loves to cuddle and to be held. He gives the biggest grins freely and just lights up a room.

10 months already?! My little peanuts are growing up so fast!! :( I can't believe it... What I CAN believe however is that he's an eating machine... Next thing you know is he's gonna be just like his mom and eat a ginormous piece of chocolate cake... To himself! ;)
