Happy 1st Birthday, Hunter!

Hunter and I had a great day together. We woke up early and played, got ready, and then headed to my parents house to get stuff ready for his party over there tomorrow. We then went to Bellevue Square and did a little shopping and played in the kid area. Of course I went to take some pictures of him on the toys... and I had forgotten to take the memory card out of the computer... very typical of me!

We waited for Jesse to get home from work and then the three of us headed to Chuck E. Cheese for dinner.

I had gotten Hunter a birthday cupcake while shopping earlier in the day, so we headed home and got Hunter undressed for his big cake eating moment! He kept looking at us at first like "Am I really allowed to touch this cupcake???" But then he finally dug in and Henry was right there to help!

One Year Ago Today

Our little boy, Hunter, is one year old today! The saying, "Time flies when you are having fun", is so cliche but also so very true. One year ago from today we met our little man and he filled our hearts with joy and love. That day changed my life forever in such a wonderful way. Hunter was born on October 8th, 2009 at 6:27pm after 13 hours of labor.

In honor of the day of Hunter's birth, I'm sharing the video Jesse took during the first moments of Hunter's life. I look back at this video now and remember just how emotional of a moment it was and I was just so overwhelmed by just giving birth and not even knowing what to do with this little man that I had just given birth to. I can't describe it as anything else but overwhelming and an outpouring of emotion. I knew my life had changed in those few seconds and it was going to be an amazing journey, I was right.

First Love...

Hunter found his first love today. It was in a package sitting in the kitchen when I got home today. His great grandpa, Hal, had sent him a birthday present. Being the impatient person I am, I let him open it early. It was a "My Pal Scout". He helped pull the wrapping paper off of it and then tried to pull him out of the box immediately. Jesse got Scout taken out and then Hunter officially fell head over heels for Scout, see for yourselves!

Working Mom Wednesday!

It's that time a week again, I'm participating in Working Mom Wednesday today @ http://www.workwifemomlife.com/. Her prompts today are:

#1. Top Ten _________ (give us a top ten list of anything!)
#2. Best afternoon pick-me-ups.

I'll choose the second option, the first is way to wide open for me at 6 in the morning!

Some of my favorite afternoon pick-me-ups include:

1. Pumpkin Spice Lattes
2. A unexpected surprise
3. Shopping :)

Photography & Caramel Corn

Today was a busy, busy day. I got home from work at about 5:45 tonight and rushed outside to use my camera for the first time, while it was still light out! I got some good pictures of Hunter at the park right next to our house. He is such a sweet and fun loving little boy!

Then we headed back home for me to get busy making the caramel corn for Hunter's circus themed birthday party. I had never made caramel corn before and I have to admit that it was not too hard!

Hunter is sound asleep.... so I think it's time for some Tuesday night television! Tuesday night is full of great shows like The Biggest Loser, NCIS, NCIS Los Angeles, The Good Wife, and Parenthood. Hmmm, going to have some tough decisions tonight!

Got a new camera!

I finally gave in a bought a DSLR camera and can't wait to start using it. I know absolutely nothing about photography, but I'll learn, right?

I got to the point where I was hating the quality of photos that my digital camera was taking and the lag time before it actually took the picture. By the time the picture was taken, Hunter had moved or turned around. So... I promise to have better quality pictures in the future! :)

Another week...

I am so thankful that my work week ended last night. It gets tough and tiring being a working mom while Jesse is gone. On Monday, I met up with my friend Rachel and her son Cole at the Super Mall's kid area. I was so bummed that my camera died before they got there, so I didn't get any pictures of the boys together. Boo!

The rest of the week seemed to be a disaster after work. The dog was going crazy, I accidentally left a bag of frozen berries out on the counter overnight which was a huge mess, Hunter has been throwing a fit every time I put him in the car seat... The list goes on.
I stayed at my parents house last night and didn't hear Hunter when he woke up. I was so thankful for my dad getting up with him and allowing me to sleep in until 7am! I baked a beautiful cheesecake with a raspberry sauce for two co-workers birthdays last night and am going to visit my sister, niece, and nephews today! It should be a good time!

Henry was born on July 4, 2007. His hobbies include playing with his squeaker toys, barking a little girls, dock jumping, going to the dog park, and being spoiled rotten by his grandparents.
